On Tuesday (May 20), Iron Maiden shared a message urging fans to limit their phone usage during their upcoming Run for Your Lives World Tour, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the legendary heavy metal band. “We really want fans to enjoy the shows first hand, rather than on their small screens,” explains Maiden’s longtime manager, Rod Smallwood. “The amount of phone use nowadays diminishes enjoyment, particularly for the band who are on stage looking out at rows of phones, but also for other concertgoers. The phone obsession has now got so out of hand that it has become unnecessarily distracting especially to the band. I hope fans will be sensible in severely limiting the use of their phone cameras out of respect for the band and their fellow fans.” Smallwood hopes fans “have the time of your lives as you join your Maiden family by singing your heart out, rather than getting your phone out!” Maiden’s tour gets underway on May 27 with a sold-out show in Budapest. Dutch metal powerhouse Martyr has announced their brand new studio album, entitled "Dark Believer", for an August 15th-release on ROAR! A video clip for the band's first single, the colossal album title track, is now premiering below! “The first single from our upcoming album Dark Believer is HERE. During the writing and recording process, this song evolved into something dark and mysterious,“ the band states. “Embracing the shadows—where demons lurk, witches chant, and lost souls are drawn into the unknown. Heaviness meets melody. Crushing riffs. Epic vocals. Relentless bass and drums. It’s pure MARTYR metal. Dark Believer is your first descent into the abyss we’ve carved on our new album. A taste of evil, despair, and hypocrisy that stains the soul of humanity.”

On Monday (May 5), David Lee Roth announced the dates and details of his Summer 2025 US tour, marking the Van Halen legend’s first live trek in five years. Diamond Dave’s 14-date tour stretches from late July through mid September, starting in Hollywood, Florida, on July 31, and concluding in Napa, California on September 14, while making stops in Tampa, Atlantic City, Cincinnati, and St. Louis along the way. Ticket pre-sale begins on Tuesday (May 6), with a general on-sale scheduled for Friday (May 9). This announcement follows the 70-year-old singer's first full concert in five years at the M3 Rock Festival, where he performed a set comprised entirely of Van Halen classics to an overwhelmingly positive response. Other than a few corporate gigs over the past few years, Roth’s last official show was opening for KISS back in March of 2020.

On Wednesday (April 30), Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and Joe Perry reunited to perform together at a San Francisco benefit concert raising funds for Janie's Fund, Tyler's nonprofit organization supporting vulnerable women. Alongside an all-star band, the notorious “Toxic Twins” played a series of classic Aerosmith hits like "Toys in the Attic" “Same Old Song and Dance,” “Sweet Emotion,” “Dream On,” and “Walk This Way,” and a couple of covers. The Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson, Cheap Trick’s Robin Zander, former Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum, and Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt also performed at the event. Despite Aerosmith announcing their live retirement in August 2024 due to Tyler's vocal cord injury, the singer previously performed at his annual Grammy Awards watch party – which was another benefit for Janie’s Fund – and he was also just added to the lineup for Black Sabbath’s historic farewell concert in Birmingham, England on July 5.
Amid their ongoing 60th anniversary tour, the Scorpions have faced health setbacks as 76-year-old singer Klaus Meine's respiratory infection forced the cancellation of concerts in Buenos Aires, Argentina (on April 26) and Bogotá, Colombia (April 30). The German rock legends expressed their deep regret and disappointment over the cancellations in a series of posts on Facebook, vowing to make every effort to return to the affected countries. Health issues also affected the band earlier in the year, as they were forced to postpone their Las Vegas residency due to drummer Mikkey Dee's recovery process from a sepsis diagnosis, with rescheduled dates now set for August 2025. Despite these challenges, the Scorpions plan to resume their tour in Ecuador on May 3, followed by shows in Mexico and a series of European dates before their U.S. return in August.
