The Pretty Wild stormed into the Old National Centre in Indianapolis Sunday night with the kind of unbridled intensity that reminded everyone why metalcore still matters. The nu metal duo, originally from Indianapolis, comprised of sisters Jÿl & Jules Wylde, commanded the venue with a sound that bridges heavy metal aggression and melodic sensibility.
From the opening notes, the Wylde sisters demonstrated the fierce chemistry that has earned them a devoted following. Their dual vocal approach creates a haunting dynamic - alternating between melodic passages and crushing breakdowns that had the entire floor moving as one. The sisters' stage presence was magnetic, feeding off each other's energy and the crowd's enthusiasm.
When they launched into fan-favorite tracks, the audience became a sea of raised fists and voices singing along to every word. The Pretty Wild's music blends rebellion and raw emotion, igniting a captivating energy that transcends expectations, and this was fully on display throughout their set.
The production was tight, the energy relentless, and the connection between the band and audience undeniable. A few minor sound mixing issues during the quieter moments couldn't dampen what was otherwise a powerhouse performance that left the crowd sweaty, exhilarated, and hungry for more.
I spoke with a bartender before the show and he said he had never heard of The Pretty Wild, and after they performed, he came over to me with a fist bump and said I was right about how good they are.
