October 10, 2026
(with Ernest and Emily Ann Roberts as supporting acts)
Thomas Rhett brought his Soundtrack to Life Tour to Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix on Saturday night, delivering a country music lineup that mixed contemporary country with pop influences. The show featured opening performances by Emily Ann Roberts and ERNEST, giving fans three different takes on the genre throughout the evening.
Emily Ann Roberts opened the night with her traditional country sound. Known for her powerful vocals and roots in country music, Roberts brought a different feel to a lineup that would eventually move into more modern country-pop territory. Her background on The Voice helped introduce her to a wider audience, and this tour gives her another opportunity to reach new listeners.
ERNEST followed with his mix of country songwriting, humor and modern Nashville influences. He's built a reputation not only as a recording artist but also as a songwriter behind major country hits for other performers. His own material brings a slightly different edge to the genre, making him a natural fit for a bill like this. Covering a couple of Toby Keith hits along with a chilling violin version of the Star Spangled Banner which the crowd loudly sang along to.
Rhett had the biggest job of the night, with a catalog packed with songs that cross between country radio and mainstream pop. From upbeat crowd-pleasers like “Crash and Burn” and “T-Shirt” to the more romantic side of his music with “Die a Happy Man” and “Marry Me,” his catalog offers plenty of variety. His ability to move between party songs and heartfelt material has helped make him one of country music's most recognizable modern performers.
Rhett also played a song which he stated was to be released in a few weeks called "Be There In A Minute", giving fans something new to hear before it hits radio.
The three-artist lineup made for a solid night of country music, with Roberts bringing traditional country vocals, ERNEST showcasing his songwriting-driven style, and Rhett delivering the familiar hits that have made him a regular presence on country radio.
For Phoenix country fans, it was a chance to catch three artists at different points in their careers on the same stage. With a mix of newer country sounds, established hits and songs made for singing along, the evening offered a little something for fans of several sides of the genre.
