GRAMMY-winning singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat continues her successful streak of resonant collaborations with the upcoming release of her new single, “Can’t Say No,” featuring multi-platinum, chart-topping artist Ryan Hurd. The track arrives this Friday, June 27 via Blue Jean Baby Records.
Written by Caillat, Hurd, and the song’s producers Eric Arjes and Jimmy Robbins, “Can’t Say No” captures the emotional push and pull of a relationship that’s hard to walk away from.
“I think so many people can relate to this story,” said Caillat. “It’s really hard to make a clean break these days. Seeing an ex on social media can pull you right back in, even when you know it’s not what’s best for you. When the feelings are still there, saying ‘no’ feels almost impossible - especially after a few drinks.”
“It’s an incredible honor not only to get to write with Colbie, but to have the opportunity to sing with her as well,” adds Hurd. “She’s such a legend and a creative giant, and I hope that everyone loves ‘Can’t Say No’!”
Don’t call me when you’re drunk
Cause I can’t not pick it up
You’re more than a pattern
I’ll fall back into
Cause this can’t be over
If you’re coming over
If you ever loved me
Don’t ask me
If I still do
Cause we both know
That I can’t say no
Blending Caillat’s signature warmth with Hurd’s smooth vocals, the duet delivers an intimate, modern take on love, timing, and the ties that linger long after a breakup.
“Can’t Say No” follows the release of Caillat’s recent collaborations, including “Realize” featuring Mitchell Tenpenny and “If You Love Me Let Me Go” featuring Russell Dickerson. Both are reimagined versions of Caillat’s beloved hits and have amassed a combined 10M+ streams, while “Can’t Say No” marks a brand-new song born from a shared personal story in the writer’s room. Together, these tracks offer a preview of more new music from Caillat coming later this year. Fans can hear them live on her upcoming tour, which includes a featured performance at the Bourbon & Beyond Festival in Louisville, KY.
