Jacquie Roar Releases New Barbed-Wire Ballad “Free”

Jacquie Roar isn’t just asking for space in country music; she’s claiming it. With the release of her brand new single “Free,” the breakout southern rock artist delivers a fierce, soul-rattling anthem made for the bold, the ferocious and the unapologetically unfiltered.

Fueled by honest storytelling and rebellious swagger, “Free” celebrates strong, independent women who refuse to be boxed in. With lyrics like "I ain’t made for no ring / no man can tame me / gypsy heart / and as hot as Haiti / you’ve never seen no one as wild as me,” Roar conveys a message that’s confident and full of fire.

“This song should come with a mouth guard because it’s like a kick in the teeth,” says Jacquie. “When I hear it, it makes me want to drive fast or stand at the edge of a mountain and push my face against the wind. For the first time, I really hear my voice. This is me, fully locked in, and I’m proud as hell of how far I’ve come.”

“Free” was co-written by Jacquie Roar alongside an elite team of hitmakers: Jesse Slack, who recently scored a No. 1 with “Moonshines” by Owen RieglingSteve Fee, currently charting with Max McNown’s “A Little More Free”; Jason Mater, an Emmy and HMMA-nominated producer and songwriter known for hits on major projects like Disney’s Descendants, who also produced the track; Jordan Gray (Shaboozey, Jelly Roll, Dylan Scott); and Christian Pond.
