Newly Nashville-based rock heavyweights The Word Alive have unleashed their powerful new single “Eyes Above” today, May 30th, via Oxide Records. The track marks the next chapter for the band as they continue to evolve their sound while staying true to the emotional
intensity that has defined their career.
“Eyes Above” delivers a soaring blend of haunting melodies, introspective lyrics, and explosive instrumentation that fans have come to expect—only this time with a heightened sense of urgency and atmosphere paying homage to their roots.
Currently on the road supporting Ice Nine Kills, The Word Alive are bringing their new material straight to stages across the country. Following the current tour, the band will headline a summer run with fast-rising acts TX2 and Unwell, promising an unforgettable live experience and a deeper glimpse into what’s next from one of modern rock’s most enduring forces.
““Eyes Above” was one of the first songs I worked on last summer in Los Angeles on a writing trip.” Says front man Telle Smith. “I had the concept lyrically when I went into the studio and knew I wanted to bridge the gap between everything people have come to love about The Word Alive, but taking it up a notch. I felt like this song was a way to celebrate the history of the band, while also ushering in a new era where we are going to show the world we have no intention of
slowing down. Hopefully people want to break their necks head banging to this one.” Says frontman Telle Smith.
