Rising country artist Gunnar Latham has released the official music video for his new single, “Cowboy Every Time,” out now via Gone Ropin’ Records. The song and video are a nod to the kind of woman who lives true to the cowboy lifestyle: grounded, loyal, and rooted in tradition. Watch the video below.
Co-written by Latham, Josh Grider, and Mitch Oglesby, and produced by Grider, “Cowboy Every Time” captures the essence of a woman who values turquoise over trends, boot-cut jeans over high fashion, and real country living over city lights. Whether she’s running barrels at the rodeo or riding passenger while checking cows, she chooses the cowboy life, every time.
The video brings those lyrics to life with cinematic snapshots of the life Latham knows firsthand, one built on ranching, rodeo, and real-life stories passed down through generations.
"This song means a lot to me because it’s not made-up...it’s real,” says Latham. “I’ve seen this kind of woman my whole life. She’s tough, loyal, and loves the cowboy way for what it is, not what it looks like. I wanted to write something that shows appreciation for that kind of strength and heart, and the video really brings that to life."
Born into a church-going and country music-loving family in San Marcos, Texas, Latham’s upbringing was steeped in ranching and rodeo. Growing up surrounded by horses and cattle, his first love was rodeo, competing in steer wrestling, team roping, and tie-down throughout high school, college, and professionally. But his passion for music blossomed early as well, first in his father’s church, then around the horse trailers at rodeos, and later in the honky-tonks of central Texas.
After a few years of balancing his rodeo dreams with his love for music, Latham made the bold decision to pursue a full-time music career in late 2019. Since then, his dedication has paid off, with a growing Texas fanbase, a publishing deal, and representation by Chad Kudelka at CAA.
